Jurio

Cambodia taught me that the most dangerous kind of exclusion is the kind that looks invisible. Back in Korea, I saw the same pattern every week at the Mission Center for Migrants in Daegu: workers who could not read the contract they had signed, did not know the rights they already had, and could not ask for help because no one around them spoke their language.

Korea's labor law protects these workers on paper. In practice, the protection is locked behind a language barrier.

Jurio is a web app, fully bilingual in Korean and English, that translates labor rights out of legal jargon and into plain language a worker can act on: wages, hours, contracts, injury, dismissal, and where to actually go for help.

It is designed for the person it serves. No account required, readable on the cheap phone in a worker's pocket, and switchable between languages mid-sentence, because that is how its users actually live.

After six years of books, fundraisers, and food service, building software might look like a change of direction. It isn't. The mission is the same one I found at AsianHub in 2019: language is power, and communities deserve access to what is already theirs. An app is simply the medium that can be in ten thousand pockets at once.

I started building Jurio in April 2026. It is live, it is growing, and it is the first bridge I've built that can scale faster than I can travel.
